Ani Zur is Ukrainian artist, a graduate of Moscow State University of Culture and Art (Russia). Among her artistic practice there is performance and action art as well as photography and video works. In her works Ani reflects on the issues of history and past, memory and the inconvenience thereof, the oppression and deception, occupation and liberty, individual and one’s boundaries, politics, war. The visuals that the artist creates are as often harsh and blunt (The Absence of Evidence, Show Me Your Borders) as they are fragile and painful (Take Me Off, Instytutska Street).
Ani Zur has performed in, among others, Days of Performance Art (Lviv, Ukraine), PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine), Contemporary Art GOGOLFEST (Kyiv, Ukraine) and has been awarded Photographer of the Year 2014 (Ukraine) first prize (in Nude, Still Life, Animals categories), and special prize in Photographer of the Year 2013 (Ukraine).
